Farmers' Market with Arts &Crafts, Used Book Sale, and more

UUFD hosts three indoor Farmers' Markets each year. The dates of the next markets are:

December 12, 2015
February 13,  2016
March 19, 2016

 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Admission is $1.

These markets feature organic, non-GMO, natural food products by local farmers and a seed exchange at the DeKalb County Community Gardens table. There is also a large variety of craft and art wares including such items such as natural soaps and jewelry. There are baked goods, homemade breads, and many other delicious items to choose from.  The markets also include UUFD's popular used book sales in the UUFD library. Sunnflower Catering of DeKalb provides hot food all day. There is a commons area set up for people to gather, have coffee, tea, soup, or hot chocolate and talk. In addition to all of the vendors and activity there is live music all day on the stage: A variety of local musicians share their talents from piano to steel guitar, and more.

“We are often complimented on the fun community atmosphere and what an enjoyable market it is. We hope people stop by and join in the fun.” Kenney said. “It is a great way to experience a warm and fun community event while also supporting local artists and growers. It is important to shop local, when you buy directly from a local farmer or artist the money you spend multiplies throughout the community instead of leaving the county. It supports and helps build a strong local DeKalb County economy.”

The Farmer's Market program is hosted by the UUFD Social Justice and Outreach Ministry.
